More photo gallery updates

A slow lunch hour gave me time to finish editing a gallery of photos from Pasadena, California. Pretty much the usual touristy stuff but on one day in particular I had a clear sky and really good afternoon light.

Life still busy, and I'm planning to take the Professional Engineer licensing exam this fall, so September and October will be a blur of review classes, studying, and the exam itself, in and around my regularly scheduled day job. In the meantime, I put up another gallery -- winter shots, this time. Enjoy...

Took me long enough, but I finally got some pictures posted from Schreiner's Gardens north of Salem, Oregon. These are just about a year old but they put up a similar show every year. Amazing colors and varieties to say the least, and most of it can be purchased in the greenhouse. Do make the stop if you happen to be in the area anytime in May or early June.

2012 and still here...

Well, 2011 came and went and once again I had very little time for the website. But, the website is still here, with hosting fees paid up through December. I just did a mild cleanup on the photgraphy front page and uploaded an "architecture" gallery. Also, the 2011 news has been moved to the archive.

I lost my other grandmother this spring (the first was in 2009), leaving me with just one surviving grandparent. I also sold my '99 Eclipse last summer (yikes, what a money sink) and picked up a 2002 Toyota Celica GT-S. Not the fastest car around but it is still a kick and a half. 190hp from a 1.8L engine with nearly an 8000  RPM redline, and a 2500 pound curb weight, gives it the dynamics of a four-wheel motorcycle. I'm hoping this one will last a while. Finally upgraded my computer after five years -- Intel Core i5 2500K, just like everybody else these days -- and went with my first solid-state boot drive. The SSD is a night-and-day kind of thing. Disk subsystem latency really is the defining aspect of a computing experience, but you don't realize how much until you remove it from the equation.

Not much else to tell, I did make a trip to Pasadena, California earlier this spring and hope to have some photos of the downtown area (city hall & library, mostly) up in the near future. For now, there is one picture of city hall in the new "architecture" gallery.

If anyone is still out there, thanks for dropping by from time to time, and I do hope to have more photos posted at some point. Still picking at an ESP P101 article for the Audio Projects section, too. Some day, one way or another.
